END OF YEAR CELEBRATION
Thanks to all who participated in the online End of Year Celebration on 5/27/20. For those that couldn’t attend, here are some links to a few highlights from the evening, including descriptions by Ms. Pierson. Enjoy!
Offstage Moments Highlight Reel Video (made by Mrs. Pierson)- Fun moments that have happened off stage that our audiences don’t always get to see!
Hamilton Choreography Video- As you know, this time of year we would be celebrating a successful Spring Show performance. In place of spring show, we’ve done a bit of performing on our own during quarantine. Including the Dance it Out videos (some of which you saw in the highlight reel link), but also choreography rehearsal with Mrs. Jessi on our Hamilton Medley. Sophomore choir member, Luke Batarseh put together the choreography videos, while I found some highlighted pictures from the year! This video does not include our voices, only choreography (P.S. Luke was not able to include every video- as some newer iPhones don’t cooperate with his editing system- Thank him for his hours and hours of hard work!)
Statesmen Singers “Leftovers” Perform Senior Tribute Tradition Each year, Statesmen Singers “leftovers” (those not graduating) perform a tribute to their seniors with a song that is really special to their class. Some of these photos are of Statesmen Singers and their time together, however this song is a shout out to all Choir Seniors. Thank you to Becker Spear who put this entire project together with all underclassmen Statesmen singing!
VIRTUAL Performance of In My Life, our Graduation Song performed by Marshall Choir Seniors and Statesmen Singers. When school was shut down for the year, my heart broke for my seniors. We immediately had a meeting over Blackboard Collaborate to discuss what we can do moving forward to make the most of our time. They decided to put together one project together as a senior class. Each of them learned their part on their own with practice tracks, attended ONE “rehearsal” where they practiced in sectionals, and then they made their recording. 20+ hours later of editing, and 32 voices included, we have this beautiful recording. I am so proud of them and am thrilled that GCM will be using this virtual “performance” in their graduation video!
