Welcome to GC Marshall High School Choral Boosters. All parents of students in the choral program are welcome members! We are looking forward to another great year filled with great shows and other activities for the students. This page includes information on ways you can participate and how to contact us.
The Choral Boosters supports the choral program and choir director, Kelli Pierson, by providing:

Volunteer coordination for Marshall Choir events

Funding for piano accompanists

Funding for guest clinicians and other instructional enhancement

Funding for educational trips/opportunities/guest performances

Supplemental funding for supplies, sheet music, and instruments

Funding for choir equipment (portable sound system, props, classroom needs, etc.)

BOARD AND COMMITTEE CHAIR DESCRIPTIONS
PRESIDENT
Organize and run monthly Booster meetings. Interact with the choir director to distribute information and provide assistance for concerts and individual choir needs.
VICE-PRESIDENT
Provide support to President. Run the meeting if President is unable to attend.
TREASURER
Prepare and keep track of the Booster’s budget. Prepare and file required tax forms. Make deposits and work with the bank on accounts. Arrange for and reconcile credit card use.
SECRETARY
Take minutes at meetings. Keep Booster records for subsequent Boards.
PRESIDENT-ELECT
Assist the current President with functions in preparation for taking over as President the following year.
UNIFORM TEAM LEADER
Lead a group of people who handle the following tasks…
Help a hired seamstress to measure students, figure out distribution of existing uniforms and what needs to be ordered in time for the winter concert—primarily done the last week of Sept during the day.
Arrange for clothing to go to the cleaners and return clothing to the chorus room storage area closets, usually done once in the spring
Help with uniforms before concerts and make sure that after concerts everything is back in the closets.
Spring Show: Coordinate items needed for costumes - mostly hunting in the thrift shops or ordering online. Serve as a second set of eyes at dress rehearsal to finesse costumes that didn't quite work.
PTSA LIAISON
Attend monthly meetings of the PTSA and give a short report on what’s been happening with the choir program and upcoming events. Ensure that photos/information is given to the appropriate committee chairs to be in the PTSA Blast and newsletters.
CONCESSIONS
Ensure that tables/items are set up and ready prior to each concert (usually involves arriving to school at 5:30). Act as point person for volunteers to run the sales during the concerts. Either purchase concession items prior to each concert or arrange for donations of items.
FLOWER AND CANDY GRAMS
Ensure that tables are set up and ready for sales prior to each concert (usually involves arriving to school at 5:30). Purchase flowers (usually from Costco) and deliver to the school for each performance.
PROGRAM AND GRAPHIC DESIGNER
Receive information from the choral director before each concert and designs and prints programs. Design Spring program and arrange for printing.
CONCERT DECORATIONS
Make sure stage is decorated for each concert (Mums or TBD for Fall Concert, Poinsettias, Garlands and lights on microphones for Winter Concert and Spring Show set up as needed for lobby and stage.
TICKET SALES
Arrange for design & printing of tickets. Coordinate ticket sales at Marshall HS in the lunchroom for the Spring Show during the week of the show. Work with vendor to set up online ticket sales. Act as point person for ticket sales at the door for all concerts. Ensure there are volunteers for will call and ticket sales at each performance.
WEBMASTER
Update GCM Choral site. May combine with other positions.
HOSPITALITY
Organize food for Choreography Day and Senior Breakfast in May and the End of the Year Banquet. Arrange for any additional meals and volunteer help as needed.
DINING OUT
Schedule and arrange for dine out fundraisers.
CAR WASH
Coordinate Fall/Spring Car Washes as needed.
